LASU Admission Screening: Candidates Given Guidelines on O’Level Results, Course Selection and Registration

The Lagos State University (LASU) has released important guidelines for candidates participating in its online admission screening exercise, highlighting requirements for O’Level results, course selection, registration and the screening process.

Candidates have been advised to carefully follow each stage of the online screening process and ensure that all information supplied is accurate before submitting their applications.

O’Level Requirements for Admission Screening

According to the guidelines, candidates must possess five O’Level credit passes in subjects relevant to their chosen course of study. These credits must be obtained at not more than two sittings.

However, candidates seeking admission to Medicine and Dentistry are required to present their O’Level results from only one sitting.

Candidates applying for Engineering courses who intend to combine two O’Level sittings must possess six O’Level credit passes, including:

• Mathematics
• Physics
• Chemistry
• English Language
• Two other science subjects
• One additional subject

For candidates seeking admission into Aeronautic and Astronautic Engineering, a credit pass in Further Mathematics is also required.

The university further stated that a credit pass in English Language is compulsory for admission into all courses at LASU.

Candidates Must Upload O’Level Results to JAMB CAPS

LASU has advised candidates to ensure that their O’Level results are uploaded to the JAMB Central Admission Processing System (CAPS) before the closure of the admission screening exercise.

Candidates are also advised to study the JAMB subject requirements for their preferred courses before completing the online screening.

The relevant course requirements can be found in the 2026 JAMB Brochure, available through the JAMB website and its Integrated Brochure & Syllabus System (IBASS).

Lagos State Indigeneship Verification

Candidates who claim Lagos State indigene status must have their claims verified by the Independent Indigeneship Verification Committee (IIVC) established by Lagos State University.

According to the guidelines, such claims will be automatically validated before candidates can proceed with the online screening process.

Examination Results Taken After July 2026 Not Accepted

LASU has also made it clear that any examination taken after July 2026 will not be accepted for the screening exercise.

Candidates are therefore advised to carefully check their examination dates and ensure that the results they submit meet the university’s requirements.

Candidates Must Carefully Review Their Information

During the next stage of the screening process, candidates are required to carefully preview all the information they have supplied.

Candidates must then select the “I Certify” button if they agree that all the information displayed is correct.

By selecting the certification option, candidates confirm that their screening will be based only on the information supplied. The screening decision will be considered final based on the information submitted.

Candidates who do not agree to the stated terms will not be allowed to proceed beyond this stage.

After confirming the information, candidates should click the Continue button to proceed.

How to Download the Screening Result

After successfully completing and submitting the online screening form, candidates will be redirected to the Screening Homepage.

Candidates should enter their DE Registration Number and click Download Result to generate their screening report.

How LASU Will Grade Candidates

LASU stated that the online screening will be based on a Point Grading System.

The grading will take into consideration the candidate’s UTME score and the grades obtained in the five best relevant O’Level subjects for the candidate’s chosen course.

The relevant subjects for each course are contained in the 2026 JAMB Brochure.

Candidates have therefore been advised to visit the JAMB website and carefully study the O’Level subject requirements for their preferred course before participating in the LASU online admission screening.

Screening Registration Deadline

According to the university’s guidelines, payment and registration or updating of information will run for two weeks, beginning on September 12, 2026, and ending on September 26, 2026, at 12 midnight.

Candidates are encouraged to complete their registration and payment within the stipulated period to avoid missing the deadline.

Candidates should provide accurate information and relevant details when submitting complaints to enable the university to address their concerns.

Key Things Candidates Should Remember

Before completing the LASU online screening exercise, candidates should ensure that they:

1. Select their course carefully.
2. Meet the required O’Level subject requirements.
3. Have the required number of O’Level credits.
4. Upload their O’Level results on JAMB CAPS.
5. Note that Medicine and Dentistry require one O’Level sitting.
6. Check the additional requirements for Engineering courses.
7. Ensure that English Language is among their required credits.
8. Note that examinations taken after July 2026 are not acceptable.
9. Carefully review all information before clicking “I Certify.”
10. Download and keep their screening report after successful completion.
