Ojo LGA Hosts Historic Installation of First Elerin of Igbo Elerin

OJO, LAGOS — History was made in Ojo Local Government as the council hosted the historic installation and presentation of the Staff of Office to HRM Oba Muhammed Taofeeq Aina, marking his emergence as the First Elerin of Igbo Elerin.

The landmark occasion was celebrated with great joy and pride by the people of Ojo Local Government and the entire Igbo Elerin community. The installation represents a significant milestone in the history, culture and traditional institution of the community.

The emergence of HRM Oba Muhammed Taofeeq Aina as the First Elerin of Igbo Elerin fulfils the long-standing aspirations of the people for a recognised traditional leadership that will promote unity, preserve the community’s rich cultural heritage and contribute to its social and economic development.

Speaking on the historic development, the Executive Chairman of Ojo Local Government, Hon. (Princess) Muhibat Titilola Rufai, congratulated the people of Igbo Elerin on the occasion, describing the new traditional institution as a symbol of the community’s cultural heritage and continued progress.

She also noted that the development aligns with the administration’s commitment to grassroots development and the THEMES+ Agenda of the Lagos State Government.

“To the good people of Igbo Elerin, I congratulate you on this momentous occasion. This kingship is a symbol of our rich culture, heritage and the progress we continue to record under the THEMES+ Agenda of Mr. Governor.”

The Executive Chairman further extended her goodwill and prayers to the newly installed monarch, expressing confidence that his reign would usher in greater unity, peace and development for Igbo Elerin.

“Kabiyesi, may your reign be long, peaceful and prosperous. May your tenure bring growth, development, and unity to Igbo Elerin.”

The historic installation therefore stands as a new chapter in the story of Igbo Elerin, with the community looking forward to a reign that will strengthen its traditional institution, unite its people and contribute to the continued development of Ojo Local Government.
